Grape leaves, a popular staple of heart-healthy Mediterranean cuisine, are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Dried vine leaves, or grape leaves, are a handy ingredient to keep in the cupboard so you can make all year round stuffed vine leaves, or dolmades- a popular Greek dish with rice, onions and meet wrapped inside the leaves.
The mild, slightly tangy leaves are excellent in side dishes and salads, too. There are often paired with bulgar, pine nuts, yogurt, herbs- such as mint, dill, and parsley, aromatics- such as fennel, onions, and garlic, meats- such as minced lamb, beef, or pork, lemon, and eggplant.
For general health and wellness, grape leaves are a good source of nutrients, including vitamins C, E, A, K and B6, plus iron, fiber, calcium, magnesium.
