"Mediterranean Freekeh" by Fire Grain - 300GR

Freekeh is the world’s most nutritious ancient grain. This smoky green wheat it's a super-versatile ingredient in the Mediterranean cuisine, well known for its healthy benefits.
2000 years ago in the hills of the Galilee, a small village was under threat of an attack. To save their wheat, the villagers harvested it while it was still green and hid it in a sheltered barn.
Fate had it and during the attack the barn caught fire. When the locals came to see what was left from their precious wheat, they rubbed it in their hands and made a discovery that we enjoy till this day – Freekeh, from the Arabic word “to rub” - the green wheat was roasted by the fire and attained a delicious smoky flavour.
Fresh from Galilee, taste the Mediterranean. Enjoy delicious vegan freekeh with every meal.
1)Rinse 1 cup of freekeh in cold water. Soak for 15 minutes(optional)
2)Add Freekeh and 2 cups of water or stock in a medium saucepan with a pinch of salt. Add Packet of seasoning(enclosed).
3)Bring to a boil and then simmer on low heat,covered,for 20-25 minutes,or until all water has been absorbed(run a fork through the freekeh every few minutes while simmering)
4)Remove from heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving
