Frozen bananas and blueberries blend into a thick, velvety base with the roasted depth of Med Cuisine Black Tahini and the caramel sweetness of Organic Silan Date Syrup. Finished with fresh strawberries, almond flakes and pumpkin seeds, it is a colourful breakfast bowl with plenty of creaminess and crunch.
The Recipe
Ingredients
2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup blueberries, or fruit of choice
3 tbsp Med Cuisine Black Tahini
1–2 tbsp Med Cuisine Organic Silan Date Syrup
Splash of soy milk, or milk of choice
To Finish
Fresh strawberries, sliced
Almond flakes
Pumpkin seeds
Method
Load the blender. Add the frozen bananas, blueberries, Black Tahini, Organic Silan Date Syrup and a small splash of soy milk to a high-speed blender.
Blend. Process until thick and completely smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Add only a little extra milk at a time so the mixture stays spoonable rather than drinkable.
Portion. Divide the smoothie between two chilled bowls and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon.
Finish. Top with sliced strawberries, almond flakes and pumpkin seeds. Serve immediately while cold and thick.
🌿 Med Cuisine Tip: Begin with the smallest possible splash of milk. Frozen fruit softens quickly as it blends, and adding too much liquid at the start will turn a spoonable smoothie bowl into a drink.
Black Tahini gives the frozen fruit a rich roasted-sesame depth and striking colour, while Organic Silan Date Syrup rounds everything out with naturally fruity, caramel-like sweetness.
